Countdown

While I was recovering from a surgery to remove little painful stones on my kidney, I caught myself counting the days, hours and minutes to get better.
I could barely move for 2 weeks, and after the first week -when I was feeling powerless, stressed, drained, and anxious- I've decided to accomplish this little thing I had in my mind for some time.

It helped me to distract me from the pain and also, time goes by when you're doing something just because you love it. Art is a powerful medicine, after all.

I must go

A small homage to some places I've been. Hope I can travel and draw a ton more of these.
Skechers were made with acrylic markers.

As Tall As Lions

As Tall As Lions was an unique indie rock band from Long Island, New York.

I was first invited to create a t-shirt design, but our relationship was extended when the band decided to split, and I was proudly asked to create their farewell tour posters.

It saddens me that the band is over but I felt honored to contribute in some way with their story, as I am a big fan of their music.

Below are some of my favorite pieces I've created for them. I highly recommend any music lover  to give it a listen, in case you don’t know already.

Lasso Tool Tutorial

A quick guide on how to create landscapes using only the lasso tool. This illustration was made in about 30 minutes, without too much thinking on composition nor concept. Basically, I use the lasso tool to create shapes and fill with color, and also to subtract/delete/refine the same shapes.

Patterns applied on products

There is an undeniable beauty when a design goes from the flat screen with pixels to something real, touchable, with volume and scale . Specially with patterns, since it usually fits well on mostly anything you apply (no wonder surface design is one of my many passions!)
Here are some examples of patterns I had the pleasure to create and see the products come to life.
